In the summer
time, life is a lot more relaxed - and warmer!
With temperatures often touching 35 degrees
a lounge by the pool or toe dipping in the river are always tempting.
But there is a lot more
to do than that!
- Parapenting,
- Rafting,
- Horse riding,
- Mountain biking,
- Canoeing,
- Canyoning..... as well as hundreds
of kilometres of mountain walks.
For the more leisurely minded, trout
fishing or just a gentle stroll along the riverbank.
We are also a superb base for a touring
holiday. Whether by car or motorbike, the relatively empty roads
are a joy to drive and with Switzerland and Italy just an hour away,
the possibilities for a day out are extensive.
Visit Geneva,
Annecy
with its lake and old town, Chamonix,
the Aguille
du Midi, Mer
de Glace and of course, Mont
Blanc. The medieval port of
Yvoire. Evian
or Aosta
are all nearby.
Driving
to Samoëns is simplicity itself, from Calais it's motorway all the
way to Cluses (comfortably driven in 8hrs) then 20 minutes along
well signposted roads. Or if you fancy the more leisurely trip there
are numerous superb places to stop on the way.
